Rhein-Maas-Liga: Rules

  1. Each team plays at four boards. The strongest player of each team plays at board 1, the second strongest at board 2, and so on.
  2. The weaker player gets full handicap, but at most nine stones. In case of equal strength the colours are determined by nigiri. White gets 6 komi.
  3. Time limit is 45 minutes, byoyomi is 20 moves in 5 minutes.
  4. Anybody may participate, but for only one team in a year. There is no limit to the number of players in a team.
  5. Unless other appointments are made, games start at 8 p.m. If a team is not able to play on the scheduled date, it has to inform all teams concerned and Torsten, at least one weak in advance. In any case the games shall be played at most two weeks later than scheduled.
  6. The home team is responsible for reporting the results to Torsten as soon as possible. If games do not take place or Torsten does not get a result, the responsible team loses.
  7. The ranking depends on match points (2 for a won match, 1 for a draw), in case of tie on won games. If teams are still equal, the results among them count next.
  8. All participants concede that the results are published in the WWW.
